ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

Hack Day CSBA x HBA at UT Austin, hosted in partnership with Major Hacking League, is a one-day hackathon designed to bring together ambitious students at the intersection of technology and business.

Focused on collaboration, learning, and hands-on building, this <8-hour mini hackathon challenges participants to turn ideas into impactful solutions within a fast-paced, supportive environment.

With a theme centered on Business and Entrepreneurship, hackers are encouraged to think creatively about how technology can drive innovation, solve real-world problems, and shape the future of industries.

GET STARTED

CSBA x HBA is open to all UT Students! However, each team must have a BHP member.

To register for CSBA x HBA Hack Day, kindly sign up on the Google Form: Devpost-join-hackathon

Form teams with fellow participants (up to 4 members per team) or opt to work solo! Make sure to come on Sunday, April 12th, at 12pm CST. Join our Discord Server, and feel free to email us at priscilla.ye@utexas.edu.

Requirements

WHAT TO BUILD

Participants are encouraged to create projects addressing business problems, whether they are apps, websites, robots, or other innovative solutions. Low code/design-only projects are also welcome!

WHAT TO SUBMIT

Present a demo video showcasing your project in action (maximum duration: 2 minutes)

Provide a link to your project (GitHub only)

To ensure fairness, all participants are expected to initiate their projects from scratch. But, feel free to engage in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas beforehand.

A hackathon is a fun, sprint-like design event where individuals collaborate intensively to develop software projects.

Who can participate?

This event is open to ALL UT Students, regardless of skill level!

How much does it cost to participate?

Participation in this event is entirely free!

What if I can't code?

No worries! We will be hosting workshops to assist new hackers in acquiring valuable skills and creating their own original projects! Also, feel free to use AI in your hackathon project!

How many people can be in a team?

Teams can consist of up to four members.

Can I host a workshop, be a guest speaker, or a judge?
